Global Talent Trends 2022
✨ my role: ux architecture • design lead ✨
In the Fall of 2022 LinkedIn reimagined its publication of their annual Global Talent Trends report. In the past, this would be issued as a cumbersome, 70-or-so-page, downloadable PDF detailing the trends in talent seen globally through LinkedIn data. Classic, right? But, not the most useful distillation of the living, breathing, constantly evolving talent data LinkedIn can provide to their audience. So, it was time to make a change.
Rather than an overly long and detailed annual PDF, this report would now be issued exclusively as a website within the LinkedIn Talent Solutions ecosystem and updated multiple times a year. This site needed to be dynamic and compelling, with a strong hierarchy so that the audience can quickly understand the latest trends. To do this, the global editor of the report distilled the data down to the 4 main areas of talent trends that would be the most relevant at the time of publication. From there, I took the content and developed a user experience flow of the site and a blueprint for the content that could be updated for each publication.

Visual Language
As a trend report, data visualization is obviously a crucial element of communication here. But, where does that data come from? Humans! Who sets the trends in talent? The talented humans being making decisions about their lives and careers. At the end of the day, the content of this report is deeply rooted in humanity. So, with that in mind, photography, real faces of real people, became a key element of this visual system.
